About The Position

The Bartender at the Lucia Mexican Grill is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing beverages for guests and servers while also taking orders and serving food and drinks. Additionally, assesses bar customers' needs and preferences and makes recommendations.

Requirements

  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Union Pour Card
  • Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
  • The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through five (5) years bartending or similar experience or through progressive promotion and training within the Beverage department
  • Familiarity with superior customer service skills required
  • Must have the ability to lead and supervise

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers and guests using prescribed recipes
  • Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner
  • Interact with guests in a manner which makes them feel comfortable and welcome
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assist in the delegation of duties to barbacks
  • Monitor proper par levels of all supplies
  • Communicate any problems or detrimental situations to immediate supervisor
  • Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages
  • Must be physically present at work, in assigned workstation, in order to perform all functions required of the position
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume
  • Always communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees
  • Observe and direct actions of barbacks and inspect and maintain areas for which responsible
  • Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
  • Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to the cash register and all bar equipment
  • Effectively and efficiently move around bar area
