About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety procedures and health standards. This role requires regular and reliable attendance, punctual presence during scheduled work hours, and proper maintenance of uniforms, including a gaming license. The Bartender will sell and prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, providing quality customer service by answering questions and encouraging bar service purchases. Key responsibilities include maintaining a well-stocked, clean, and organized bar, monitoring liquor controls, managing cash flow according to procedures to prevent loss and theft, and maintaining the integrity of cash and comp transactions. The Bartender must monitor guests for intoxication, discontinue alcohol sales if necessary, and inform security and management. They will also alert supervisors and security about difficult or potentially violent guests, coordinate with Cocktail Servers, and promote various casino events and services. Developing positive guest and employee relations is crucial, as is selling change to guests upon request. All duties must be performed in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act and internal policies. The Bartender should alert supervisors to any concerns regarding beverage quality, selection, variety, or equipment, and comply with security policies. Maintaining alertness and general awareness of bar operations, exercising caution, and evaluating circumstances for appropriate responses are essential. Supervisors should be kept informed of any concerns, and customers must be verified to be 21+ years of age. Additional tasks and special projects may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated bartending experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent in education or experience.
  • One (1) or more years of recent and related bartending experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.
  • Colorado Limited Gaming Support License is required.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Successful completion of alcohol awareness training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, performing duties in compliance with safety procedures and health standards.
  • Sells and makes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to guests in a respectful and efficient manner.
  • Provides quality customer service by answering questions to encourage guests to purchase bar services.
  • Maintains a properly stocked, clean, and well-organized bar at all times, ensuring liquor controls are closely monitored and tightly maintained.
  • Monitors cash flow and complies with money handling procedures to prevent loss and theft, maintaining the integrity of all cash and comp transactions.
  • Monitors guests for intoxication, discontinues alcohol sales if applicable, and informs security and immediate supervisor/casino manager.
  • Alerts supervisor/casino manager and security regarding guests who may be difficult or possibly violent.
  • Coordinates bartending activities with the rounds and breaks of Cocktail Servers.
  • Promotes events in gaming, slots, restaurants, and other areas as required or requested.
  • Develops, maintains, and enhances positive relations with all guests and employees.
  • Sells change to guests on request.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act and internal policies and procedures.
  • Alerts supervisor of any concerns regarding the quality, selection, and variety of all beverages and equipment.
  • Complies with established security policies and procedures.
  • Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities and a general awareness of bar operations at all times.
  • Exercises caution and evaluates circumstances for appropriate security or safety response.
  • Keeps their supervisor informed of any concerns.
  • Verifies customers are 21+ years of age.
  • Performs additional tasks, including special projects, as needed and directed.
