About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for the complete setup of the bar area and the mixing of drinks for all guests and servers. This role requires maintaining the service and cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and control over liquor inventory.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a related field preferred.
Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, according to local state laws.
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand during entire shift.
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including ability to handle guest objections and disputes to satisfactory results.
Must be able to show initiative in job performance.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace.
Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources.
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
Must be able to work and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.

Responsibilities

Setup of the bar area.
Mixing of drinks for all guests and servers.
Maintain the service and cleanliness of the bar area.
Ensure quality service and guest satisfaction.
Control over liquor inventory.
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Expotel Hospitality Service standards.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
Comply at all times with Expotel Hospitality Service standards and regulations.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
Process guests’ checks, collect cash and process credit cards and room charges.
Perform opening and closing side-work.
Prepare beverages and cocktails according to standards for mixing, portion control, and presentation.
Serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
Ensure the lounge areas are kept clean and tidy.
Be familiar with the computer system.
Carry out cashiering functions by closing checks and servicing the guest.
Follow all state liquor laws.
Assist in maintaining beverage costs.
Follow prescribed procedures in servicing liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests, and report to management when necessary.
Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels.
Stock and clean glassware.
Check soda tanks to ensure they are full and secured properly.
Prepare all garnishes.
Assist in cleaning of tables and all lounge area as needed.
Attend training as required by management.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
