The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink/food orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks, as well as serving beer and other beverages, and completing transactions. This role requires assisting and approaching all guests in a sincere, courteous, and service-oriented manner, and whenever possible, going the extra mile to ensure total guest satisfaction. The Bartender will learn guest names, remember regular guest’s favorite drinks, and perform cashier duties following company and franchise standards while ensuring quality service and guest satisfaction. A key part of the role involves thoroughly and correctly setting up the bar prior to opening, ensuring the bar is clean before and at the end of each shift, and completing necessary side-work such as stocking and organizing liquor, juices, glassware, paper, wines, and cut fruit. The Bartender must be knowledgeable about all menu items and beverages, their garnishes, contents, and preparation methods, and utilize suggestive selling techniques. Adherence to all local and national liquor laws and proper procedures for serving liquor is mandatory. The role also includes taking and knowing inventory, requisitioning supplies, accurately taking orders, following proper cashiering functions, and using the computer system for guest transactions. Pre-bussing and bussing tables, attending meetings/training, maintaining regular attendance, and adhering to dress code and grooming standards are also essential.
