About The Position

The Bartender at Octavia in Caesars New Orleans Casino provides friendly, excellent service to bar customers and prepares and pours drinks. The role is responsible for guest satisfaction through courteous interactions, knowledge of food and drinks, helpful property information, and attentive service. Bartenders maintain control of their station and guests, anticipate needs, manage service timing, and create a positive atmosphere. They also actively upsell products, provide entertainment pouring, and share relevant knowledge of beer and sports betting with guests. The Bartender prepares drinks according to prescribed recipes and standard portions; keeps the bar stocked; manages cash, complimentary drinks, and charge receipts; and sets up and breaks down the assigned bar. The role requires operating registers and bar equipment, maintaining low beverage costs, and complying with attendance requirements and regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be a certified bartender.
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous bartending experience required.
Knowledge of operating a cash register and bar equipment required.
Knowledge of beer basics, brewing techniques, beer styles, and flavor profiles.
Basic knowledge of sports betting and sports to support relevant conversations with guests.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers as part of a team.
Ability to present a well-groomed appearance.
Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to respond to visual and aural cues.
Ability to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke and work at a fast pace in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

Prepare ordered drinks using department recipes, standard ingredients, and proper portions; provide related bar service to guests.
Operate the cash register, ring up the correct amounts, and provide correct change to guests or servers.
Provide entertainment pouring and courteous interactions that create a great guest experience.
Inform guests about current property events, promotions, and attractions.
Maintain complete knowledge of food and drinks and provide service that supports guest satisfaction.
Maintain respectful control over guests and anticipate needs and situations before they arise.
Manage service timing and set the tone and style of the assigned station.
Maintain an enthusiastic, positive, and helpful manner with guests and serve as a role model to other employees.
Mix drinks according to prescribed recipes and keep the station stocked with liquor, glasses, and accessories.
Account for the beginning cash register bank, cash, complimentary drinks, and charge receipts.
Use beverages, fruit, and supplies resourcefully to help maintain low beverage costs.
Actively upsell products and use endorsements at appropriate service opportunities.
Set up and break down the assigned bar according to department policies and procedures.
Meet attendance guidelines and follow regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
