About The Position

Our menu is fresh, exciting and unlike any other in Madison offering an approachable, authentic spot for everyday or special occasions. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic old fashioned, a fresh cocktail menu created in-house featuring locally sourced, seasonal ingredients or simply a Madison area tap beer, we’ve got a little something for everyone. Augie’s Tavern is Madison’s Place for patrons to find the perfect balance between upscale casual and fine dining. Our waterfront property offers breathtaking shoreline views of beautiful Lake Mendota as well as our luxurious historic property. Customers of both The Statehouse and Augie’s Tavern can relax while being attended to by bar and restaurant staff with incredible professionalism. Requirements
- Previous experience bartending in casual or fine-dining settings
- Professional knowledge of basic cocktail menus and recipes, wine knowledge and the ability to learn new drink preparation techniques while ensuring portion control
- The focus to ensure correct order taking and prompt service to multiple customers at a time while allowing guests the freedom to tailor their orders to their needs
- Time management skills
- A caring, positive attitude with a genuine interest in ensuring our customers have memorable experiences
- Excellent customer service skills with the desire to work in a team environment
- A self-driven, entrepreneurial attitude towards achieving your goals
- The ability to physically perform the duties required of our Bartenders including carrying food trays, delivering drinks, carrying drinking glasses, plate ware and flatware through kitchen areas, occasionally moving tables and chairs
- Evening/weekend work
