About The Position

Reporting to the General Manager, we are looking for a seasoned, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our guests. The Bartender will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients and handle basic cleaning duties.

Requirements

  • Written communication in a clear and concise manner.
  • Exude high energy and demonstrate a knack for building rapport with guests and colleagues.
  • Exhibits organizational abilities and shows a natural skill for multi-tasking, prioritizing, and anticipating needs.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally, fluency in additional languages a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate and respond in a timely fashion
  • Must be able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused with constant interruptions
  • Understanding of hotel operations, food and beverage knowledge, steps of service, and cash management as it pertains to the selling of food and beverage
  • Any other duties assigned by the manager

Nice To Haves

  • Previous high-end bartender experience preferred.
  • RBS and ServSafe Food Handler Certification – or ability to obtain upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers, listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
  • Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials
  • Selecting and making ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are of the legal age to purchase alcohol
  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register
  • Responsible for maintaining exceptions service levels
  • Must continually strive for sales growth by having ongoing knowledge of all current menus
  • Be perceptive, proactive, and engaging.
  • Anticipate your guest’s needs
  • Set the tone for success with position attitude and sincere enthusiasm
  • Engaging in clear, consistent communications with leadership and restaurant staff
  • Ensure that each customer is served efficiently and effectively
  • Must be a good example while working alongside team members
  • Be able to communicate restaurant and hotel promotions, local attractions, and point of interest
