About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests during events at Madison Square Garden in a professional and courteous manner. This position is also responsible for assisting in the day to day Food & Beverage operations at the arena during events and maintaining food, beverage and cleanliness of bar area, includes heavy lifting due to stocking of work area. Must be able to walk and stand during the entire shift. Checks identification to ensure it is authentic and confirms it meets the legal drinking age of 21. Mixes, garnishes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests. Be engaging to all guests, make recommendations, while taking their drink orders and completing all cash or credit transactions prior to serving. Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

Requirements

  • Previous bartending experience.
  • Commitment to high quality customer service.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume environment.
  • Food & Beverage product knowledge.
  • Experience using POS system.
  • Positive attitude and good team work ethic.
  • Able to walk and stand during the entire shift.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
  • Must be able to work within an environment with loud noises and everchanging visuals.
  • Ability to climb and descend multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment or supplies.
  • Ability to maintain certification in T.E.A.M alcohol management training.

Nice To Haves

  • Bartending license a plus.
