About The Position

The Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. This role adheres to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, sets up assigned bars, and maintains stock of all beverages and related supplies. The Bartender greets guests, takes and processes drink orders, mixes and garnishes drinks, and checks guest identification. This position also detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained and demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws. Responsibilities include securing all beverage products, food, equipment, and cash at the end of the shift, performing general cleaning tasks to maintain health and safety standards, and arranging bottles and glasses for an attractive display. The Bartender also washes and sterilizes stemware and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
• Ability to handle cash and make change accurately.
• Knowledge of standard drink recipes.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous bartending experience.
• Knowledge of wine and spirits.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Sets up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
• Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.
• Greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner.
• Takes and/or processes orders for drinks; mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes; practices prudent portion control.
• Checks guests at the bar for proper identification.
• Detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws.
• Locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops; secures bank.
• Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; keeps work area clean and organized.
• Arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.
• Washes and sterilizes stemware.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
