About The Position

The Bartender at Bar nineteen 48 is responsible for creating exceptional beverage experiences through precision, hospitality, and craftsmanship. This role combines technical expertise with genuine guest connection to deliver an elevated and memorable experience for every guest. As a representative of one of Newport Beach's most exclusive cocktail destinations, the Bartender must consistently execute beverages with precision while embodying the warmth, sophistication, and attentiveness expected in a luxury resort environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of upscale bar, restaurant, or luxury hospitality experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and premium beverage service.
  • Requires ability to learn and use telephone and POS computer systems used at the property.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English to understand instructions, safety rules, and communicate with guests.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Must complete TIPS® (Training for Intervention Procedures) alcohol awareness certification as scheduled upon employment.
  • Must have a valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Must know all applicable health standards.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, ordinances and regulations and company policy regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons.

Nice To Haves

  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Work schedules will include working on holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.
  • In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Must wear designated uniform/attire, including non-slip, oil-resistant shoes

  • Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Engage guests through personalized recommendations and thoughtful beverage storytelling.
  • Demonstrate extensive product knowledge and a commitment to continuous beverage education.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually impeccable workstation.
  • Ensure consistency in cocktail presentation, flavor profile, and execution.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide seamless, attentive service.
  • Assist with inventory organization, stock rotation, and daily preparation.
  • Participate in menu tastings, training sessions, and product knowledge programs.
  • Uphold all responsible alcohol service standards and company policies.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and service-focused team culture.
