Requirements

  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current trends in the industry and marketplace.
  • Knowledge of cocktail recipes.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to company values.
  • Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
  • Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands.
  • Regularly reaches with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits.
  • Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems is preferred (e.g., POSITOUCH and MICROS).

Responsibilities

  • Stocks the bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, assists in cost control and inventory, and maintains inventory records.
  • Assists department leaders with the creation of seasonal cocktails and menu development.
  • Assists department leaders with the social media schedule and content creation.
  • Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products. Communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management.
  • Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager.
  • Performs opening and closing duties, which include, but are not limited to: inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking.
  • Maintains accountability for checks and cash transactions.
  • Utilizes the Point of Sale system.
  • Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
  • Serves catered parties from service or portable bars.
  • Occasionally serves meals to guests.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
