About The Position

Summary of the Position: Being of service to facilitate memorable moments, meaningful connections; inspiring loyalty and creating a reputation of excellence in hospitality by providing positive, personable interactions with our guests and our co-workers. To maintain expert knowledge of the Pelican food menu and beverage program, including beer knowledge and cocktail recipe knowledge. Provide exemplary service to all guests and be a resource for fellow team members. Responsible for providing exemplary guest service, communicating effectively and efficiently with FOH and BOH, and maintaining cleanliness and stocking of bar. Understands the importance of being hospitable, friendly, and communicative with guests to ensure a positive dining experience at the Pelican. Communicates effectively and promptly with team members about any ticket issues, beer changes or 86’d beverages during shift as well as information about cocktail recipes and beer descriptors. Assists in training and onboarding of new team members both on food menu and bar program. Responsible for assisting with bar inventory if needed. Responsible for cash handling. Responsible for understanding and maintaining all OLCC rules and documenting any incidents. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure in unforeseen situations. Understand and provide five-star service to all guests. Maintain a clean bar top and bar space. Responsible for changing kegs and troubleshooting the beer draft system on a basic level. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Resolve guest complaints as he/she becomes aware of them, notifying the manager of any complaints received and strive to resolve guest issues. Assists other service personnel as needed. Performs all duties in accordance with the Family of Companies and Pelican customer service standard. Maintains general knowledge and provides information to guests of Pelican menu items, events, community involvement.

Requirements

  • 3 years of FOH hospitality bar experience preferred
  • 1 year of FOH hospitality leadership position preferred
  • Experience making cocktails
  • Experience in the beer industry, serving and general knowledge of beer preferred
  • Advanced understanding of interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using hospitality POS systems such as Heartland, Toast or Square
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and physically able to move and lift things such as kegs, liquor orders and large food trays
  • OLCC and Food Handler’s Certification
  • Exceptional communication skills
