About The Position

Sonny's Place is locally owned. We are committed to providing safe, fun, and entertaining activities for families in our Western New England communities. Since opening in 2008, we have continually invested in expanding our offerings. We started with a driving range and have continued adding more attractions each year. Our most recent additions are the Monkey Mayhem Miniature Golf Course and Bumper Boats! Sonny's Place is named in honor of the owner's father, recognizing how family ties get stronger when kids and adults get the chance to have fun together. Position Summary: The Bartender is responsible for working directly with our guests mixing and serving drink orders. The bartender is also responsible for verifying age requirements, knowing a variety of established recipes and managing the bars inventory as well as cleaning bar supplies throughout each working shift.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods in varied weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Have a good attitude and participate as a member of the team.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Bartending experience is preferred.
  • Leadership skills
  • Have up-to-date TIPS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing and blending according to established recipes.
  • Provide a fun, energetic atmosphere.
  • Serve food and alcoholic beverages to guests efficiently and speedily.
  • Answer menu questions.
  • Complete opening and closing duties including but not limited to restocking items, and cleaning pavilion/bar areas, and workstations.
  • Inventory, etc.
  • Maintain an accurate count of, cut, and prepare fruits and other beverage garnishments.
  • Ensure charges in the point of sale (POS) system are applied properly and accurately.
  • Make sure all food and beverage areas are operating by State and Federal Health Codes and State Liquor Laws
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
