About The Position

The Westin Tempe is seeking a Full-Time Bartender for Sushi by Bou to join their team. This role involves servicing guests throughout the hotel, delivering exceptional service in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to ensure high guest satisfaction. The Bartender will create a welcoming and memorable guest experience by preparing and serving beverages promptly and courteously in a fast-paced, upscale setting, while consistently upholding the standards of excellence set by Sushi by Bou, Crescent Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott International. Requirements

Ability to communicate in English.
Self-starting personality with an even disposition.

Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
Sufficient strength to lift, load, and transport product weighing up to 50 lb. from storage facility to bar.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
Previous experience required including cash handling and customer service.
Proven bartending experience, preferably in fine dining or upscale hospitality.
Knowledge of cocktails, wine, and spirits, with the ability to make recommendations.
Ability to obtain both Maricopa Health Card (Food Handlers Card) and Alcohol Certificate.
