About The Position

The Westin Tempe is looking for a Full-Time Maître d’ for Sushi by Bou to join their team. This role involves servicing guests around the hotel, delivering exceptional service in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to ensure high guest satisfaction. The Maître d’ oversees the daily front-of-house operations for Sushi by Bou, ensuring a seamless, elevated, and guest-focused dining experience. This position serves as the primary point of contact for guests, managing reservations, pacing of service, and overall dining room flow while upholding the highest standards of hospitality. Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Ability to communicate well with guests.
  • Willingness to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, prolonged standing and walking or otherwise, move or push goods on a cart weighing a maximum of 100 lbs., at a continuous schedule.
  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Previous experience required including cash handling and customer service.
  • Ability to obtain both Maricopa Health Card (Food Handlers Card).
  • Ability to obtain Alcohol Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in servicing guests around the Hotel.
  • Handle tasks in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to achieve a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee the daily front-of-house operations for Sushi by Bou.
  • Ensure a seamless, elevated, and guest-focused dining experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guests.
  • Manage reservations.
  • Manage pacing of service.
  • Manage overall dining room flow.
  • Uphold the highest standards of hospitality.
  • Remain professional at all times and treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect.
  • Adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and concerns.
  • Maintain work habits that meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Be adaptable to change in work area and hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
  • Have the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever unsure.
