About The Position

The Westin Tempe is seeking a Part-Time Maître d’ for Sushi by Bou. This role involves servicing guests within the hotel, delivering exceptional service in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. The Maître d’ oversees the daily front-of-house operations for Sushi by Bou, ensuring a seamless, elevated, and guest-focused dining experience. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for guests, managing reservations, pacing of service, and overall dining room flow while upholding the highest standards of hospitality. Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
  • Communicate well with guests
  • Willingness to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting
  • Working evenings, weekends and holiday availability
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, prolonged standing and walking or otherwise, move or push goods on a cart weighing a maximum of 100 lbs., at a continuous schedule
  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs
  • Previous experience required including cash handling and customer service
  • Ability to obtain both Maricopa Health Card (Food Handlers Card)
  • Ability to obtain Alcohol Certificate

  • Adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns
  • Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance
  • Be adaptable to change in work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones
  • Solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever unsure how to do something
