About The Position

The Bartender provides customized beverage service to restaurant and bar customers in a friendly, energetic, and timely manner. The role focuses on helping guests enjoy or relax during their time at the bar. Bartenders are expected to be passionate about guest service, communicate effectively, and multitask. The position follows MCR’s universal standards for guest service, cleanliness, product consistency and quality, and teamwork. Team members are expected to provide a welcoming experience, maintain clean and organized workspaces, complete operational checklists accurately, communicate professionally, and collaborate to meet guest and business needs. The role may also require pitching in to clean guest rooms or public spaces as needed. The Bartender prepares and presents drinks according to standard recipes and portion-control practices; maintains bar supplies and garnishes; handles orders, payments, and cash; and supports food safety, cleanliness, and service operations. The position requires the ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and provide friendly service throughout scheduled shifts. The employer may assign other job-related duties.

Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to stand for sustained periods and walk to accomplish tasks, including over long distances or between work sites.
Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
Ability to carry items such as laundry supplies, linens, and other items.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation if requested and absent undue hardship.

Nice To Haves

Experience in hospitality, service, a consumer-facing franchise, or a related field.
Knowledge of drink preparation.
Previous bartender experience.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and describe available food and beverage options clearly and accurately.
Maintain an adequate and properly organized bar setup.
Stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce; prepare and store fresh garnishes, juices, and other perishables.
Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and portion-control practices.
Attend monthly departmental meetings.
Enter orders into the computer and process payments accurately.
Receive guest cash, make change, verify charges, record charges, execute vouchers properly, and balance monies.
Secure and store beverages, food, and equipment; deposit cash drops and secure the bank at the end of the shift as needed.
Sanitize and clean the bar area and assist with keeping the restaurant and surrounding areas clean.
Complete the daily inventory preparation sheet and other permitted side work.
Maintain familiarity with current food and beverage offerings and promote and document drink orders.
Follow food safety and handling procedures, including product rotation, dating, labeling, and cleaning.
Demonstrate knowledge of hotel hours, amenities, features, events, and relevant role technology.
Work effectively and efficiently with the service and kitchen teams.
Follow hotel-wide guest service, cleanliness, checklist, shift-handover, uniform, communication, and teamwork standards.
Be available to work scheduled shifts and follow timekeeping, break, and call-out procedures.
