About The Position
McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge is hiring for a Bartender. McMenamins is a family-owned company in Oregon and Washington serving handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee alongside pub fare. Locations range from neighborhood pubs to historic hotels, emphasizing community, art, history, music, food, drink, and fun. This role involves handling all tasks from opening to closing the bar, including serving food, pouring drinks, operating a POS system, waiting on and bussing tables, doing dishes, restocking supplies, general cleaning, completing shift reports, and maintaining customer relations. Bartenders are responsible for all cashiering duties. This position requires physical stamina, mental agility, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, potentially in smoking and non-smoking areas. The role requires working independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Obtain and maintain a current food handlers card
- Obtain and maintain a current MAST card
- Enjoy working in a busy customer service-oriented environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous high-volume experience is preferred
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred
Responsibilities
- Handle all tasks from opening to closing of the bar
- Serve food
- Pour and serve beer, wine, and spirits
- Operate a cash register and/or a POS system
- Wait on and bus tables
- Do dishes

- General cleaning
- Complete the books after shifts
- Maintain customer relations
