About The Position

The Rec Room is a revolutionary new entertainment concept that offers a wide range of entertainment options including a large attractions area with state-of-the-art simulation games, redemption gaming for prizes, and various recreational games like luxury bowling, billiards, shuffleboard, and ping pong. It also features an auditorium-style venue for live entertainment and a theatre-sized screen for watching events. The Rec Room provides an upscale casual dining experience with an open kitchen and a contemporary menu, alongside an "eatertainment-style" concept in the games area. A large central bar with a stage and digital displays serves as a gathering spot. The Rec Room integrates a cutting-edge interactive technology platform to enhance the overall entertainment experience. Cineplex Entertainment is recruiting for the position of Bartender at The Rec Room West Edmonton, reporting to the General Manager.

Requirements

High-School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
Minimum 1-2 years Bartending experience.
Knowledge of drink recipes.
Ability to handle large crowds.
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management.
Ability to lift 50lb required.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

Nice To Haves

Completed Bartending classes.
Current provincial Smart Serve Certification.

Responsibilities

Prepare alcoholic drinks for patrons.
Know standard drink recipes and mix them quickly and accurately.
Check identification of guests to ensure they meet the minimum drinking age.
Take drink orders, serve drinks, and collect money for drinks.
Fill drink orders placed by waitresses for guests.
Arrange bottles and barware.
Wash glasses.
Clean the bar.
Remove empty bottles and trash.
Replace empty beer kegs.
Stock the bar by bringing liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom to the bar.
Keep track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies.
Order bar supplies.
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
Pour wine and beer.
Collect payment and operate POS.
Serve food to guests seated at the bar.
Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol, stop serving, and ensure a safe ride home is arranged.
Clean up after guests and clean work area.
Order and maintain liquor and bar supplies.
Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
Serve guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
Handle and move objects, such as glasses and bottles, using hands and arms.
Monitor and maintain an inventory of supplies.
Mix ingredients according to drink recipes.
Perform physical activities such as lifting and stooping.
Refuse service, arrange a taxi, or call the police if necessary.
Clean, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
Perform other duties as required.
