About The Position

The bartender receives and serves Guest beverage requests. This role involves serving and mixing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to Guests and wait staff following established recipes. The bartender must understand and adhere to all departmental rules and regulations, maintain a clean workstation, check IDs for age and authenticity, and discontinue service according to the law. Additionally, the role requires maintaining inventory controls, restocking bar supplies, being aware of marketing promotions and events, and providing information to Guests about the Casino. The position also includes attending mandatory meetings and training, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating sensitivity to Native American Culture. All operations must be conducted within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual, Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and other applicable regulations, ensuring the security of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe assets. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • TIPS Training.
  • Good attendance and punctuality a must.
  • Knowledgeable about drink ingredients and mixtures.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, public relations and communications skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Physically capable of remaining on feet for long periods of time.
  • Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment and alcohol establishment.
  • Neat, courteous and professional demeanor.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must have strong Computer skills.
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.

  • Previous bartending and cash handling experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned cash register and bank per shift.
  • Serve and mix alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to Guests and wait staff following established recipes.
  • Understand and adhere to all rules and regulations pertaining to the department.
  • Maintain a clean work station or area including ash trays, glasses and bar tops.
  • Check I.D.’s for age and authenticity.
  • Discontinue service according to the law.
  • Maintain inventory controls.
  • Restock beer coolers liquor and other bar supplies.
  • Be aware of marketing promotions and events, machine locations, table games and other Guest services.
  • Provide answers to Guests questions and inquiries about the Casino.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Sensitivity to Native American Culture.
  • Operate within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  • Secure the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  • Other duties as assigned.
