About The Position

At Bow & Bend, located on the 12th floor in Calgary's west-end, overlooking the Bow River, we are a 150-seat rooftop restaurant and bar committed to a culture of inclusivity, innovation, wellness, and personal growth. We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging professional Bartender responsible for serving beverages and menu items to guests in a professional, competent, and prompt manner. This role involves delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences, while showcasing extensive wine, spirits, and beer knowledge, all according to the high standards of Bow & Bend.

Requirements

  • A seasoned professional with a minimum of one year of Bartending experience in a large, upscale Restaurant operation in a downtown city center.
  • Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
  • Someone with extensive knowledge in wine, beverages and bartending practices.
  • Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
  • Valid ProServe certification.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 20 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently provide the highest quality of service to our customers and staff alike, setting a shining example for our team.
  • Prepare drink orders from customers/servers in proper calling order.
  • Make cocktails in accordance with the 5-Star Standards - solid cubes of ice, thoughtful and elegant garnishes, fresh juices and all in appropriate glassware.
  • Follow all check handling procedures, including all credit card policies and procedures.
  • Prepare beverage requisition for liquor.
  • Create a pleasant, friendly, hospitable, effective and professional working atmosphere at all times- this involves being genuine in all interactions.
  • Comply with established procedures in standard ProServe beverage practices regarding the serving of alcohol and the identification of minors.
  • Check and replace glassware where needed.
  • Stock and replenish ice at all ice stations.
  • Clean floors in area of responsibility at the end of each shift.
  • Stock and replenish all alcohol, wine and beer to all of the par levels established.
  • Follow all opening, closing and any other applicable side duties as assigned per shift.
  • Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following all sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations.
