About The Position

The Bartender role at Marriott International is focused on creating memorable and unique guest experiences beyond just mixing drinks. Bartenders are expected to stay updated on new trends, local offerings, and evolving guest needs, acting as hosts of the bar space and taking broad ownership of guest service. They are responsible for ensuring the bar operates flawlessly, building relationships within the hotel and community to anticipate guest needs, and demonstrating a keen eye for detail in all aspects, from financial transactions to drink quality. Critical aspects of the job include maintaining a safe workplace, adhering to company policies, protecting company assets, ensuring confidentiality, and maintaining a professional appearance. The role also involves physical activity such as standing, walking for extended periods, and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.

  • Act as the host of the space.
  • Take ownership of guest service more broadly and do what needs to be done.
  • Use knowledge and expertise to make the bar look and function flawlessly.
  • Build relationships with others across the hotel and in the community, to anticipate and deliver on guests’ needs.
