About The Position

Sunshine Village is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bartender to join our dynamic food and beverage team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to guests in our restaurants and during banquet events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create memorable experiences for our guests. Bartenders work under the supervision of the F&B Supervisor and Manager, or designate, and closely with all culinary and distribution departments at Sunshine.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bartender in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or hotel environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail preparation, and beverage trends.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems for order taking and payment processing.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Certification in ProServe is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certification in hospitality or bartending is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and serving a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and efficiency.
  • Creating and suggesting innovative cocktails and drink specials, ensuring they align with guest preferences and seasonal trends.
  • Maintaining a well-stocked bar, including inventory management of spirits, garnishes, and supplies.
  • Providing outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and ensuring a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Offering drink recommendations and answer any questions regarding the beverage menu.
  • Addressing and resolving guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, and equipment.
  • Following all opening and closing procedures, ensuring the bar is ready for service at the start of each shift and properly secured at the end.
  • Assisting in the setup and breakdown of bar areas for banquet events, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Adhering to all local and provincial alcohol service regulations, ensuring responsible serving practices.
  • Following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of beverages and glassware.
  • Monitoring guest alcohol consumption and taking appropriate action if needed to ensure guest safety.
  • Working closely with kitchen staff and other members of the food and beverage team to coordinate service and ensure timely delivery of food and drinks.
  • Participating in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about menu changes, promotions, and hotel events.
  • Supporting colleagues during busy periods and provide assistance as needed to maintain smooth operations.
  • Timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting.
  • Completing all training documentation.
  • May assist with ordering supplies and monitoring inventory.
  • Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.
