About The Position

Chicago Marriott Northwest is seeking a professional, high-energy Bartender with strong communication skills and a passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate will be experienced in full-service hotel or upscale bar environments and capable of delivering both classic cocktails and innovative beverage experiences. The Bartender will be responsible for creating a welcoming bar atmosphere, engaging with guests, understanding preferences, and delivering high-quality beverage service. This role also includes recommending menu items, upselling, maintaining bar cleanliness, and supporting overall guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• 1–2+ years bartender experience (full-service hotel preferred)
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beverage service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays)
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Basic math and POS/computer skills

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming, and professional bar environment
• Prepare and serve classic and signature cocktails, wine, and beer
• Engage with guests to recommend beverages and food pairings
• Maintain full knowledge of menu items and ingredients
• Follow proper service standards with speed and accuracy
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of bar and seating areas
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately
• Maintain inventory and assist with ordering supplies
• Verify legal drinking age in compliance with regulations
• Support development of new cocktail recipes
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen and service teams
