The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to patrons, oversee the stock of liquor and bar supplies, and collect money for drinks served. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Interact with guests in a friendly and efficient manner; greeting customers as they are seated at the bar; ensure guests’ complete satisfaction by exceeding their expectations – this includes ensuring the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided. Encouraged to learn guests’ names and favorite drinks; develop rapport. Receives orders from patrons and waitstaff. Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs for patrons they are serving directly. Maintain complete knowledge of the restaurant’s food and beverage preparation and menu, with the ability to answer customer questions. Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions. Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures. Verifies that the food is correct based upon what the customer ordered and to customers’ satisfaction, if incorrect or unsatisfied notify the manager on duty. Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service. Keep bar areas always cleaned and stocked to the company’s standards, including closing cleaning checklist. Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes. Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display. Wash and sterilize stemware, bar utensils, and glasses. Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
