About The Position

Mt. Bachelor Bartenders play a big role in the Food & Beverage Department’s success. There are bars located in each of our lodges and vary in size and volume, and each has its own personality that we try to match with our bartenders. Our bartenders create a fun atmosphere while still providing a safe space for guests and employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum time in related position: 2+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume business required.
  • Oregon Food Handler’s Card and OLCC permit
  • Must be proficient with computers and POS systems.
  • Must be able to change and/or move full kegs of beer.
  • Able to stand and move around quickly for long periods of time.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Flexible with hours and days of work.
  • Able to work any hours of the day, any days of the week.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Superb customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to shovel snow, lift up to 10 pounds, and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.
  • Frequently bend, reach, climb, push, pull, lift over 50 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Frequent visual concentration, rapid reactions to changes, and the utilization of hand/eye coordination.
  • Minimum Age Requirement: 21+

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment by greeting and acknowledging every guest, answering commonly asked questions, and moving the guest through the service process in a timely manner.
  • Serve all drinks according to specified recipes and be familiar with all products, up-sell items, and give recommendations according to current promotions.
  • Extensive guest interaction and requires excellent customer service skills.
  • Accurately ring in all items and adhere to department standards and accounting practices.
  • Handle cash accurately and always keep Mt. Bachelor assets safe.
  • Position requires a current OLCC server's permit and is required to always follow OLCC rules and regulations. OLCC permit must be carried on your person while on shift.
  • Perform opening and closing duties. Prepare restaurant for next day business.
  • Must check identification, limit service according to time and amount being served, and refuse alcohol service to anyone visibly intoxicated.
  • Clean and sanitize service stations and keep them in an orderly manner throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a professional and personable appearance.
  • Maintain recommended standards for health, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, and liquors
  • Have working knowledge of computers and POS system.
  • Notify manager, supervisor, or bar lead of inventory excess or potential shortage.
  • Accountable for accurate timekeeping. Responsible for clocking in and out with employee pass.
  • Completes any reasonable task assigned by supervisor.
  • Observe mountain-wide policies found in the Employee Handbook.
  • Assist management with set-up and breakdown of all special events.
  • Assist with food service and bussing tables.
  • Snow removal duties.
