About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for maintaining the bar set-up, preparing and serving drinks, handling guest orders and payments, and ensuring a positive guest experience. This role requires adherence to service standards, safety regulations, and cash handling procedures.

Requirements

Ability to communicate in English.

Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
Basic mathematical skills for cash register operation, making change, totaling checks, counting bank, preparing cash drops, and understanding portion sizes.
Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife for garnish, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead for stock.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point-of-sale procedures.
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
Adherence to hotel security policies and procedures, including key controls, lifting heavy boxes, using chemicals, and reporting safety hazards.

Responsibilities

Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis, including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce.
Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily.
Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders, and mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control.
Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with all state, federal, and corporate requirements, and ensure proper liquor controls are in place.
Input orders into a point-of-sale system and create checks for guests.
Receive cash, make change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance monies.
Comply with PM Hotel Group policies regarding cash handling.
Lock up and store beverage, food, and equipment items; deposit cash drops and secure the bank.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
