Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a bartender in a high-volume, upscale environment.
  • Experience with POS systems, including Micros Symphony or similar platforms, is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Prior experience in cash handling and customer service is required.
  • Ability to prepare traditional drink recipes and fulfill customer requests while adhering to cost guidelines and Alcoholic Beverage Control codes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to handle challenging situations within an alcohol-serving facility.
  • Commitment to following all state and local sanitation codes.
  • Excellent communication abilities to engage effectively with supervisors and customers in a professional and friendly manner, resolve conflicts and provide outstanding service to guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • Team-oriented attitude, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
  • Strong organizational abilities and effective time management skills, enabling task prioritization and efficient multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
  • Attention to detail in managing orders, requests, and customer needs during busy shifts.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds as part of regular job duties.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Alcohol awareness trained (tips or similar) required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the bar and service customers in a manner adhering to State & local Codes and company guidelines.
  • Welcome customers, interact, make recommendations and take food and beverage orders.
  • Select, mix and garnish requested beverages for customers.
  • Perform ID checks to ensure legal age of guest.
  • Keep bar fully stocked.
  • Adhere to all state and local food safety and alcoholic beverage laws.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions relative to bar sales and operating the POS system.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work area.
  • Develop new cocktail recipes.
  • Prepare traditional drink recipes and as customers specify according to cost guidelines and ABC codes.
  • Handle difficult situations in relation to an alcohol serving facility.
  • Ensure that the state and local sanitation codes are followed.
  • Possess a positive attitude, create a nice first impression.
  • Record all charges entered into the POS system correctly and balance at the close of the shift.
  • Complete all side work at the end of shift.
