About The Position

This is a casual part-time position working weekends and weekdays. Hours vary between 9:00 am - 11:00 pm. The hourly range for this position is $9.80 - $14.70 plus tips/gratuity. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous bartending experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and friendly outlook, be enthusiastic and ambitious about their job.
  • Arrive on time and ready for work.
  • Accurately complete all assigned side-work for opening of the bar.
  • Stock all areas of the bar.
  • Do weekly side-work duties.
  • Complete opening cashiering responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the appearance of the bar is neat, clean, attractive, and that all equipment is functioning.
  • Acknowledge guests/servers within two minutes.
  • Provide information on other hospitality facilities, the local area, and directions for guests.
  • Provide menus and inform guests of specials, entertainment, etc.
  • Stay aware of current events, news, and sports.
  • Create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere and mood at the bar.
  • Answer the phone in a professional manner.
  • Offer courtesy gestures.
  • Go above the expectations of the guest (offer additional services and recognize special events).
  • Serve drinks within three minutes of ordering.
  • Ensure tickets do not build up.
  • Maintain a comfortable working relationship with co-workers, free of agitation and inconsistent service.
  • Ensure drinks contain proper proportions, with attractive appearance and presentation.
  • Ensure quality of drinks is consistent.
  • Always serve drinks with a napkin.
  • Clean ashtrays after one butt.
  • Continually monitor bar and bar area to see that guests are cared for.
  • Acknowledge the guest and seat them if necessary if host/hostess are not present or not scheduled.
  • Follow proper guidelines for setting up bank ($300.00).
  • Ensure bank has enough change to last through shift.
  • Follow proper procedures for ringing cash, checks, and charges immediately and accurately.
  • Ensure no checks are left open at the end of the shift.
  • Give correct change and tips according to procedures.
  • Follow all procedures promptly and accurately according to the training manual, minimizing conflicts.
  • Cut off guests who are intoxicated.
  • Card guests for proper identification.
  • Handle Micros breakdowns.
  • Change taps, soda, and CO2.
  • Give last call at the proper time every night.
  • Ensure all guests have left the property at the designated time.
  • Complete all assigned closing side-work.
  • Leave the bar neat and clean and ready for the next shift.
  • Fill out requisition form for replacement of alcohol and beverages.
  • Obtain permission from the manager on duty before leaving venue.
  • Have trash removed at the end of the evening.
  • Be present and prompt at all mandatory staff meetings.
  • Offer constructive ideas for improvements, problem solving, and continued training.
