About The Position

Riggs Washington DC is seeking experienced and passionate Bartenders for its Silver Lyan bar, a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana (Mr Lyan). Located in a historic building in the Penn Quarter, Riggs offers a unique hospitality experience. The ideal candidate will have luxury or independent hospitality experience in the Washington DC market, thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess an open mind, a great sense of humor, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork. Adaptability, calmness under pressure, resourcefulness, and efficiency are key attributes for this role.

Requirements

Fun and welcoming personality is a MUST
Minimum 2 years of bartending experience
Knowledge of wines, beers, cocktails and spirits
Willingness to learn and adapt in new situations
Positive attitude and a desire to be hospitable
Luxury or independent hospitality experience in the Washington DC market preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver warm, engaging, and personalized hospitality to every guest
Prepare cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages to Silver Lyan's exacting standards
Build meaningful connections with guests through conversation, storytelling, and expert recommendations
Guide guests through our beverage program and menu with confidence and enthusiasm
Maintain a deep understanding of Silver Lyan's cocktails, ingredients, techniques, and philosophy
Collaborate closely with the Bar, Kitchen, and Hotel teams to create seamless guest experiences
Contribute to a culture of creativity, curiosity, and continuous improvement
Support sustainable working practices and responsible service standards
Ensure the bar remains organized, clean, and operationally excellent throughout service
