Seasonal Bartender/Server
About The Position
Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused Bartender to join their team at The Phelps, a world-class property in Cincinnati. The Bartender is responsible for delivering memorable hospitality to guests by building genuine connections and providing engaging service from arrival to departure. This role requires a proactive individual who can understand guest needs, prepare beverages efficiently, and maintain a positive, quick-thinking attitude. The Phelps is a boutique hotel with 134 guest rooms and event space, known for its exceptional team and service.
Requirements
- Engaging and welcoming personality
- Current bartender’s certification or appropriate license
- Knowledgeable in the latest trends around mixology
- Descriptive and able to sell
- 2-4 years of bartender experience
- Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they arrive or move about the bar area.
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily.
- Guide guests on their beverage journey through descriptive selling of the menu.
- Be accurate in order taking, confirming all special requests.
- Understand bar details to enhance guest conversation.
- Work collaboratively with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff.
- Assist guests with concerns to guide them to a resolution.
- Present timely and accurate bills.
- Requisition and stock all beer, wine, spirits.
- Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard ingredient recipes and practicing portion control.
- Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest.
- Lock up and store all beverages, food, and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure the bank.
