About The Position
Meriwether Godsey is hiring a part-time or temporary Barista to provide guests at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Virginia, with specialty drinks and attentive, gracious service. The role involves preparing and serving beverages and food items, interacting positively with customers, handling payments, and maintaining cafe inventory and a clean, sanitized workspace. Requirements
- Previous Barista and food service experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to switch between locations and job duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Availability for nights, weekends, and a mix of daytime and nighttime work.
Nice To Haves
- POS experience.
Responsibilities
- Make and serve specialty coffee, tea, and other hot or cold beverages.
- Greet and interact with customers in a positive and friendly manner.
- Follow recipes and presentation standards for food and beverage items.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, including sweeping and mopping cafe and servery floors, emptying trash, and cleaning grinders.
- Accept payments by cash, check, credit card, vouchers, or automatic debit.
- Sell and serve baked goods and miscellaneous food items.
- Maintain cafe inventory stock.
