About The Position

Weis Markets is seeking a Barista who is committed to providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive team environment. The Barista will also be responsible for cash register operations, adhering to sanitation guidelines, and potentially assisting with deliveries and other departments as needed. The position emphasizes continuous learning and practice to hone craft, supporting fellow baristas, and communicating effectively with store leadership.

Requirements

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation.
Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Ability to read simple verbal or written instructions.
Ability to write short memos/messages.
Able to communicate information effectively one on one, and in small groups (customers and co-workers).
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
Able to perform these operations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- and two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Minimum eighteen (18) years of age.
Ability to pass drug test.

Responsible for general sanitation in the department.
Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements.
Disposes of trash properly.
May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained – training provided).
May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of a power jack or hand jack (if properly trained – training provided).
Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
May also be called upon to assist in other departments.
