About The Position
The Barista is responsible for creating the Starbucks Experience for guests in the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art by providing legendary customer service, preparing high-quality beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean, welcoming café environment. This position serves as a brand ambassador by delivering exceptional service and ensuring all products are prepared according to Starbucks standards. The Barista plays an important role in creating memorable guest experiences within a fast-paced convention center environment. This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$24.00 and is tip eligible.
Requirements
- Previous customer service, food service, coffee shop, café, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
- Basic cash handling and point-of-sale experience preferred.
- Ability to learn beverage recipes and preparation techniques.
- Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve Starbucks beverages, including espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and specialty beverages, according to Starbucks recipes and standards.
- Provide friendly, engaging, and efficient customer service to all guests.
- Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain product quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
- Restock coffee, beverages, food items, cups, syrups, and other supplies throughout shifts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, equipment, workstations, dining areas, and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setup, cleaning, and inventory tasks.
- Monitor product levels and communicate inventory needs to supervisors.
- Resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Support team members during high-volume periods and special events.
- Maintain knowledge of Starbucks products, promotions, and menu offerings.
