About The Position

Baristas prepare and serve coffee and other beverages, create espresso-based drinks, take orders, and handle cash transactions. They explain menu items, prepare food, and focus on providing excellent guest service. Additional duties include proper food handling, stocking, bussing dining areas, trash removal, dishwashing, cleaning guest and employee areas, restocking the outlet, and ensuring high guest satisfaction. Weekend hours may be extended due to village events. The role requires teamwork and the ability to multitask. Shifts will vary and may include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work calmly in a high-stress environment.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and organize.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, any times or days needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to negotiate stairs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Must be able to hear normal conversations in a busy, crowded environment.
  • Vision must be within normal range to work safely and to read written information.
  • Must have the dexterity to use all equipment and utensils normally associated with this position.
  • Must own non-slip shoes.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous coffee shop experience is advantageous.
  • TIPS certification is preferable, may be obtained after employment.

Responsibilities

  • Wear nametags daily.
  • Be punctual.
  • Be knowledgeable about coffee and espresso-based drinks.
  • Be polite to guests and employees.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Transact sales on a POS system efficiently and friendly.
  • Maintain accuracy in cash drawers (within .5% or $10).
  • Report all thefts immediately to a manager.
  • Make every attempt to please the guest.
  • Greet, make small talk with, and thank every guest.
  • Support team members through teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Be available to guests and employees at all times as a cashier.
  • Process and complete orders according to outlet recipes and procedures.
  • Serve and fix up orders within a monetary limit determined by the manager.
  • Verify cash drawer and reserve each shift before opening.
  • Keep cash handling area stocked with necessary documents and clean.
  • Know policies regarding accepted payments.
  • Continually clean and organize the location.
  • Assist with overall restroom cleanliness and duties when needed.
  • Functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture”.
  • Uphold the most professional image.
  • Continually strive to exceed guest expectations and create memories.
  • Accept new responsibilities and transfer others as the role evolves.
  • Work as a team with other associates.
