Join our team and help us shape the future of hospitality in Newport. We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and service-oriented Cafe Attendant to join our team. This role is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while preparing high-quality food and beverage items in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives on guest interaction, maintains a positive attitude, and takes pride in delivering a welcoming and efficient experience.

Requirements

  • Passion for coffee and the cafe environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced service setting
  • Basic math and cash handling skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and to lift and carry at least 25 lbs
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays

  • Barista experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all food and beverage items according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Deliver excellent customer service through accurate and efficient transactions while adhering to all cash handling policies and procedures
  • Consistently prepare quality coffee and specialty beverages in accordance with brand standards
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Complete all pre-shift, during-shift, and post-shift side work as assigned
  • Multitask effectively and anticipate guest needs by maintaining awareness of the environment
  • Receive deliveries, unload and organize stock, and restock food, beverages, condiments, and supplies throughout the shift
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area at all times
  • Present a friendly, professional, and attentive demeanor to guests and team members
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve concerns promptly and creatively
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Assist team members as needed to ensure smooth operations and high service standards
  • Balance and reconcile the cash drawer (house bank) at the end of each shift
