About The Position
The barista is responsible for making quality beverages and preparing food orders for guests in the Bistro. This position will interact with guests in a personable and service-oriented manner. The schedule for this position is 6am-2:30pm, days of the week vary. Starting rate for this position is $18/hour.
Requirements
- Customer service experience required
- Food Handler certifications or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a related field preferred.
- experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform preparatory tasks, opening/closing and side work duties to ensure that guests are promptly and efficiently served.
- Serve guests according to Q Center’s standards in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
- Respond to guest problems, complaints and accidents; communicate to management, if necessary.
- Maintain all service area storerooms in a neat and orderly manner, stock with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for food service functions.
- Follow all money handling procedures when serving the guest; taking credit and debit payments.
- Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks, paying attention to allergies or preferences.
- Prepare and serve food items.
- Promote and recommend menu options.
- Know the menu items and give accurate descriptions.
- Maintain coffee machines, grinders and other equipment.
- Keep the work environment and seating area clean, sanitary and organized.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction and safety is achieved.
