Greet and welcome guests, provide courteous and impeccable service. Prepare and serve specialty coffee, other beverages, and select food items to guests. Complete opening and closing procedures and assigned side work. Maintain product presentations and product quality according to company standards. Maintain the organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. Practice social distancing, observe mask mandates and maintain hand washing routine as ordered by the CDC, Palm Beach County, and the State of Florida.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of café server of barista experience.
• Excellent guest service skills and passion for hospitality.
• Prior experience with Food & Beverage POS systems.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
• Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with co-workers.
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
• Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various kitchen tools and equipment, cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet every guest.
• Consistently provide friendly, engaging and efficient guest service and heartfelt hospitality.
• Describe menu and daily specials. Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, according to designated recipes and quality standards. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Hotel.
• Correctly customize orders as requested.
• Maintain the highest level of standards of quality products at all times.
• Receive and complete orders.
• Prepare and serve sandwiches, salads, and other menu items, using proper knife handling skills.
• Manage guest orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Present checks, receive and process guest payments.
• Maintain full knowledge of all food & beverage items.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, complete checklists and assigned side work.
• Complete all assigned food prep list items for the day.
• Responsible for coordinating Café service with front- and back-of-house personnel to provide a guest experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
• Assist in packaging food & beverage items for sale.
• Transport food items prepared by kitchen personnel and supplies from the kitchen, storeroom or coolers, using trolley/basket to the Cafe. Return surplus food to storeroom or cooler.
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage or cross-contamination.
• Control food waste, loss and usage.
• Take an ongoing inventory of food & beverage items, stock and maintain sufficient levels of supplies in the Café throughout the shift.
• Prepare requisitions for supplies, as needed.
• Is responsible for impeccable product presentation.
• Ensure guest service stations are properly stocked with paper products or beverage preparation items.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas.
• Remove dirty dishes from tables, transport dirty dishes to dish pit.
• Clean and sanitize service, tables and all seating areas.
• Wipe and disinfect all surfaces, such as countertops, keyboards, screens, desks, phones, faucets, sinks, doorknobs, handles, light switches, etc.
• Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
• Clean cafe thoroughly before and after shift end.
• Empty trash and transport trash to the collection bin. Mop floors.
• Follow correct food handling procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations.
• Check equipment and tools daily to ensure they are in good working condition and promptly report any defects/malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.
• Demonstrate ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure.
• Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
• Maintain a professional courteous manner with all fellow employees.
• Assist with special and deep cleaning projects as assigned by a supervisor.
• Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.
• Assist with monthly inventory of food & beverage and paper products within the Cafe.
• Assist in Stewarding, sort and wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
