About The Position

Sparrow Coffee is growing and seeking experienced coffee professionals to join their team. While all team members start as cashiers, this role is designed for individuals motivated to quickly train and advance into barista and leadership positions through a structured development program. Prior experience is valued for faster advancement, and promotions are performance-based and exclusively from within.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail and passion for specialty coffee and hospitality.
Manual dexterity to carry objects, operate order terminals, and use kitchen/barista equipment.
Patience and ability to remain positive under pressure.
Open availability for weekends and holidays.
Shift flexibility (opening, mid, and closing shifts). Openers start at 5 am, closers work until 7 pm.
Full-time (32+ hours) availability required for barista positions.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the coffee industry or hospitality.
Experience with one or more POS (point of sale) ordering terminals is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and consistent customer service throughout each guest experience.
Uphold Sparrow's service and quality standards.
Gain knowledge of all menu items (pastries, breakfast/lunch, espresso, seasonal drinks, coffee varietals) and answer guest questions.
Support front-of-house operations and team flow.
Adapt to changing station needs and maintain a positive attitude.
Prioritize collective success, collaboration, and shared goals.
Communicate professionally with team members and shift leads.
Train in kitchen and barista roles.
