About The Position

The River’s Edge Hotel, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a dynamic, driven, and service-oriented Barista to join their hospitality family. This hotel has recently undergone a major renovation and joined the Hilton brand. This position offers limitless opportunities for growth within Resolute Road Hospitality, a national third-party hospitality management company. The leadership team is dedicated to helping employees realize their full potential and feel supported. The Barista will deliver excellent guest service by creating specialized coffee recipes and providing a friendly atmosphere for guests in the restaurant. This role involves following standard coffee recipes, taking customer orders, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of food service regulations.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills required.
  • Able to maintain positive client relationships.
  • Speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language, proficiently.
  • Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment can be extremely helpful in facilitating good communication among all hotel team members.
  • Able to utilize quick thinking and apply quick resolution to guest issues in accordance to the brand standards.
  • Excellent conflict-resolution skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
  • High School Graduate or GED preferred.
  • Previous barista experience preferred.
  • Tips Card required.
  • Any requirements unique to local and state regulations required.
  • Brand standards and/or additional training required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently (on a daily basis), up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Consistent attendance in accordance with the standards set forth by Resolute Road Hospitality must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent guest service through creating specialized coffee recipes.
  • Provide a friendly atmosphere for guests in the restaurant.
  • Follow standard coffee recipes, as well as any special requests from customers.
  • Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and service.
  • Relay and/or enter orders into the POS system for the kitchen and serve courses from the kitchen and/or bar.
  • Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when a meal has been completed.
  • Clear and reset counters and tables at the conclusion of each patron.
  • Clean dishes.
  • Clean the restaurant area.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Adhere to all safety and brand standards.
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints timely, efficiently, appropriately, and in a friendly manner.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures.
  • Operate in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws including OSHA, EEOC, wage and hour, and health code laws.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
