About The Position

Pier Sixty-Six Resort is seeking a seasoned, well-rounded Barista to provide excellent beverage service and create memorable guest experiences. The Barista prepares and serves espresso-based and specialty coffee beverages, maintains the grab-and-go marketplace, and supports smooth service in a luxury resort environment. The role includes guest interaction, accurate order entry and payment processing, workspace upkeep, inventory support, and collaboration with food and beverage colleagues.

Requirements

Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.
Must have effective communication skills.
Ability to implement and uphold service standards.
Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
Ability to interact with resort associates and guests.
Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Must be TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire.
Must have a current Food Handlers card.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, stretch, lift, carry, push, and pull as required.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to safely handle and transport trays, glassware, beverages, and bar equipment.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as mixing, pouring, shaking, stirring, stocking, cleaning, and polishing glassware.
Ability to maneuver safely in crowded, fast-paced bar and restaurant areas and around varying temperatures.
Ability to maintain balance and coordination while carrying items and safely navigate stairs and other changes in elevation.
Ability to remain physically active for extended periods while maintaining guest service.

Nice To Haves

Previous barista experience in a professional setting is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED recommended.
Some college experience or a degree recommended.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated disposition.

Responsibilities

Craft and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages consistently.
Take guest orders, provide personalized service, and recommend beverages based on guest preferences.
Prepare specialty coffee drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and seasonal offerings, following established recipes and techniques.
Maintain clean, organized workspaces, coffee machines, equipment, serving areas, china, and glassware in accordance with health and safety standards.
Maintain the grab-and-go marketplace offerings.
Assist with inventory management by stocking and replenishing coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies.
Notify supervisors immediately about product shortages or out-of-stock items.
Collaborate with food and beverage team members to provide seamless service and meet guest expectations.
Record transactions accurately in the InfoGenesis system when orders are placed.
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages.
Complete closing duties, including restocking items to par levels and turning off lights.
Present accurate checks and process guest payments.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
Welcome and acknowledge guests according to resort standards, anticipate and address their service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
Communicate clearly and professionally, maintain positive working relationships, and support team goals.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
