Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Possession of a current ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain one upon joining).
- Basic math and computer skills for handling transactions and orders.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move about the café.
- Ability to operate espresso machinery and other equipment.
- Strong communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move heavy items as needed.
- Passion for coffee, tea, and great food, and a willingness to share that passion with others.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and potentially more than 40 hours a week as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide memorable and impeccable customer service, greeting each customer with a smile.
- Develop personal relationships with customers by learning their names and favorite drinks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance at all times.
- Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality coffee, tea, alcohol and food items, adhering to the highest standards.
- Continually educate yourself on our coffee offerings, tasting products during each shift to refine your palate and troubleshoot any issues.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, helping to guide and train new team members.
- Maintain a pleasant disposition and a sense of urgency while working.
- Identify customer needs and offer relevant products to enhance their experience.
- Follow all cash handling and cash register policies and procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Take ownership of your shift and assignments, always being punctual and responsible.
- Suggest and implement ideas for improving store operations and customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the café.
