About The Position

The Meadows Café barista is responsible for making coffee and tea-based beverages. In addition, the barista should be providing a high level of service and hospitality to all guests that frequent the café outlet and taking food orders to items that pertain to the café offerings.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with guests, team members, and management.
• Active listening and problem-solving abilities to address and resolve guest or employee concerns.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to anticipate guest and operational needs.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to cleanliness, efficiency, and productivity.
• Ability to apply and understand information, policies, and procedures to achieve operational goals.
• Flexibility to cross-train in other areas of hotel operations as needed.
• Professional appearance and grooming in compliance with company standards, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and beverage orders
• Preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks
• Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries
• Answering guest questions about menu choices as well as promoting and recommending menu options to guests
• Utilizing the point of sale system for order taking and payment from guests
• Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
• Keeping the work environment and cafe seating area clean, sanitary and organized
• Responding to and resolving guest concerns or complaints
• Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
• Attracting new guests and refining the menu
