About The Position

As a Teller at KeyBank, you will serve as a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to clients within the KeyBank communities. This role involves providing excellent in-person client service by welcoming new and existing clients, assisting with account transactions and servicing needs, and proactively identifying and resolving client issues. Tellers are expected to engage clients in conversations to uncover financial needs and transition them to a banker for deeper financial wellness discussions. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience
  • Experience in a client service role
  • Experienced in cash handling
  • General understanding of PC with Windows based applications and calculator
  • Knowledgeable about the client’s accounts and business with the bank and uses sound judgment with clients and transactions
  • Exhibits strong sales and service skills, presenting products and services while proactively educating clients on utilizing available access channels (ex: ATM, Online and Telephone Banking)
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to manage and maintain client accounts, ensuring accuracy and security
  • Ability to educate clients on managing their finances effectively and promoting financial health
  • Ability to accurately and securely process cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and balancing cash drawers at the end of each shift
  • Ensuring accuracy in transactions and maintaining organized records
  • Ability to identify and resolve client servicing issues efficiently
  • Understanding and following banking regulations and security procedures
  • Skills in identifying financial needs and promoting relevant banking products and services
  • Awareness of techniques to detect and prevent fraudulent activities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates to ensure smooth operations

Responsibilities

  • Embody a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and realizing the impact we can have on their day, personally, professionally, and financially.
  • Assume responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions in an in-person branch setting.
  • Proactively work to identify and resolve client servicing issues, escalating as needed.
  • Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations, and then appropriately transition the client(s) to a Banker.
  • Assist clients in achieving their financial goals and objectives through the use of financial wellness tools.
  • Attend and participate in in-person morning huddles and end of day debriefs.
  • Follow compliance, audit and security procedures, balance cash drawer within balancing guidelines.
  • Review and maintain knowledge of product guides, fees, and policies to stay current on offerings.
  • Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
