About The Position
This role ensures the total operation and service meets standards, providing customers with prompt service, quality coffee selection, purchase, and preparation per Price Chopper standards through supervision of Baristas. The Associate assists the Food Service Manager with daily operating procedures, including quality Price Chopper operations, financials, and training of Barista associates. The role requires determining customer needs, making suggestions, sampling, and suggestive selling, always ending transactions with a 'Thank You'. The Associate will also assist in hiring and coaching new associates to Barista Certification, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures, and maintaining health, safety, and food safety guidelines. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized workstation and customer service area, preparing beverage orders to standards, performing cleaning tasks, following merchandising and stocking standards, ensuring equipment maintenance, handling cash and register procedures, managing inventory, ordering products and supplies, and maintaining records. Performance standards include completing Initial Store Training and passing Barista certification with a 90% score or better. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Satisfactory Performance Reviews.
- Basic Literacy.

Responsibilities
- Consistently work to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
- Determine customer needs and make suggestions for appropriate products.
- Perform sampling and suggestive selling.
- End each customer transaction with a “Thank You†.
- Assist Food Service Manager in hiring new associates.
- Coach and train new associates to Barista Certification.
- Ensure adherence to store, Price Chopper policies and procedures for self and Certified Barista associates.
- Follow all health, safety, and food safety guidelines for all products.
- Assist customers in product selection.
- Maintain customer service area, including equipment, in a clean and appealing manner.
- Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times.
- Demonstrate a "just say yes" behavior when taking care of customers.
- Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders to Price Chopper standards.
- Perform all cleaning tasks in accordance with schedules and cleaning standards.
- Follow all merchandising standards, stocking, and rotation.
- Ensure all equipment maintenance is followed to procedure and schedule.
- Perform all cash handling and register policies and procedures and accountability.
- Follow all inventory control policies.
- Manage all product and supply orders to meet business needs.
- Maintain all recordkeeping in accordance with Price Chopper procedures.
- Demonstrate all performance standards by completing Initial Store Training and passing Barista certification with a 90% score or better.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
