About The Position

The Barista/Room Service Server enhances the guest experience by preparing and serving specialty coffee drinks, providing prompt, courteous, and professional in-room dining service. Offering exceptional customer service. Delivering meals with attention to detail and proper etiquette, this role ensures each guest enjoys a seamless and memorable stay.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality and guest satisfaction.
  • Clear and professional communication, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to multitask and manage orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail in food presentation, timeliness, and etiquette.
  • Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support the department as needed.
  • Reliability and punctuality in opening/closing procedures.
  • Proactive approach to cleanliness, presentation, and inventory management.
  • Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or food and beverage service preferred.
  • 3–6 months of related café or barista experience preferred.
  • Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and provide information about available food, beverages, and hotel amenities.
  • Prepare specialty coffee drinks following established recipes and operate coffee shop equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the coffee shop, including equipment, displays, and floors, according to SOPs.
  • Restock and refresh merchandise and food displays to ensure an inviting presentation.
  • Open and close the coffee shop on time, following proper setup and closing procedures.
  • Process all sales through the POS system, ensuring accurate cash handling and adherence to accounting procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels, communicate restocking needs, and assist management with ordering.
  • Answer the room service phone within three rings, provide menu information, and take guest orders accurately.
  • Relay orders promptly to the kitchen and/or bar for preparation.
  • Arrange meals on trays with attention to presentation, sanitation, and timeliness.
  • Deliver orders to guest rooms, ensuring professional etiquette and service standards.
  • Replenish supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes at the room service station.
  • Collect trays from guest rooms and hallways promptly, assisting guests with the removal of items as needed.
  • Complete side work assigned by management to support smooth department operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
