About The Position

The Barista / Cashier is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while preparing and serving coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and café offerings in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment. This role is also responsible for accurately processing guest transactions, maintaining café presentation standards, and creating a warm, welcoming, and service-oriented guest experience aligned with Viceroy standards.

Requirements

Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand during entire shift.
Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements, including reaching, turning, and precision work.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with fellow associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize to ensure outstanding service.
Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance, uniform and grooming.
Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
Perform other duties as requested by management.

Responsibilities

Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Accurately take guest orders and process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
Deliver exceptional guest service by engaging with guests in a friendly, professional, and personalized manner.
Anticipate guest needs and maintain a welcoming, luxury-level café experience throughout the shift.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during busy periods while ensuring efficiency and service consistency.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the café, service areas, equipment, and seating areas.
Restock food, beverage, paper products, and café supplies throughout the shift as needed.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and operational procedures.
Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, specialty beverages, and daily features.
Assist with opening, closing, side work, and daily operational checklists.
Support additional food & beverage operations as business levels and operational needs require.
Communicate operational concerns, guest feedback, or product shortages to leadership promptly.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and departmental lineups.
Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, professional appearance, and grooming standards.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction through professionalism, attention to detail, and service-focused interactions.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
