About The Position

The Bakery is looking for a part-time Barista/Cashier who will perform multiple job duties and provide excellent customer service. This role involves taking orders, preparing coffee, tea, and other drinks, packaging baked goods, and operating cash registers and credit card machines. The hours for this position are Wednesday-Friday from 10 am to 3 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm. The pay is $15/hr. plus tips.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year previous experience in a related field.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with customers, students, faculty, and staff face to face and via the telephone, and maintain a pleasant and inviting environment for all.
• Ability to memorize product descriptions and properly describe each item in a manner that promotes sales.
• Ability to keep simple records and maintain a cash register without recurring errors.
• Ability to conduct inventory and report needed supplies.
• Must maintain proper sanitation standards.
• Must comply with local health codes.
• All staff must wear a branded chef’s coat or Sullivan Bakery shirt, black chef pants, and matching apron.
• Uniforms are to be clean, neat, and in good condition (no holes, stains, or excessive wear), and replaced as needed.
• Closed-toe, non-slip shoes are required.
• All hair must be neat and covered with a hair net or hat.
• A beard net is required for facial hair.
• The only jewelry permitted is a plain wedding band.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining an inviting environment for customers and guests of the school.
• Maintaining proper sanitation of the front of the house.
• Preparation of coffee/espresso drinks.
• Packaging of bakery products and other products for customers.
• Maintaining the cash register.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
