About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring Bariatric Surgeons in Rockville, MD to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This role offers a high-impact surgical career without the corporate red tape, providing clinical autonomy outside the high-pressure hospital environment. The position is a no-call Bariatric Surgeon job, offering a refreshing alternative to the traditional on-call lifestyle which can mean missed dinners, cancelled vacations and late-night calls about anastomotic leaks. This is a true Monday–Friday surgeon job, so your evenings and weekends belong to you and your family. Surgical debridement and bedside procedures stay part of your daily practice, so your procedural expertise stays in use every day. Bedside procedures are far less physically demanding than long laparoscopic cases, reducing strain on your back, neck, shoulders and hands, allowing you to keep practicing for years to come. You will direct patient outcomes based on your surgical expertise, not a hospital committee or department hierarchy. Our custom software is designed to slash admin time, so you’re not stuck charting at midnight when you could be home at a reasonable hour.

Requirements

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
• DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
• We welcome Bariatric Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
• No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training

Responsibilities

• Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
• Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
