About The Position

The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Barber for the Chester Mental Health Center located in Chester, Illinois. Provides barbering services for the patients. Cuts hair, shaves, shampoos and performs other incidental barbering duties.

Requirements

Requires possession of a valid barber’s license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Requires experience necessary to qualify as a journey level barber.
Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
Requires the ability to lift up to 15 lbs. of tools/supplies.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Responsibilities

Provides barbering services for the patients at Chester Mental Health Center.
Maintains sanitary conditions in barber shop.
Travels to patients unable to be taken to Barber Services.
Counts tools daily to prevent retention by patients.
Observes and reports observation of patient’s attitude and physical condition.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
